    when I'm an eagle wanting to soar high

    but the heavens are flocked with crows

    and my broken wings can't take my flight?

    How can I find peace, when as a tender babe,

    I was ripped from my kindred, removed from my home,

    ripped from my homeland, stripped of my identity

    and eradicated from my culture!

    How can I find peace,

    when I have to reconcile and

    reinvent myself?

    in the chaotic sea of life

    without a life jacket?

    when anger sat at the pit of my stomach

    and has become the sentinel of my throat,

    making food unpalatable and painful to swallow?
