The Calling

    Some people say the most savage beasts are the animals of the jungles and forests.

    I ask myself: “Aren’t the most savage beasts those men who cause, fight and kill or dismember in wars, for the sake of money?”

    Other people say men differ from animals by their intelligence and their ability to reason.

    I ask myself: “Aren’t the men who manufacture warfare equipment, or who are aspiring to reach other planets, showing little intelligence, when there are millions of beings dying of hunger and their situation is ignored?” Who am I to question other people's thoughts, because I think priorities are skewed--not in favor of the masses.

    This is a calling: Aren’t we all part of one humanity? Isn’t humanity the inhabitant of one single planet? Won’t we all, sooner or later, have to render account of our actions? One planet, not one economy. One planet, not two continents. One humanity, not one world power.

    This is a calling: One planet and one humanity.

    This is the calling: Now is the time to awaken!

    Now is the time to act!

    Now is the time to find your way to love!
