有一次，我和一位钓鱼高手去肖尼镇的特拉华河钓鲈鱼。他告诉我，钓鱼的秘诀就是要耐心，即鱼碰到鱼饵时要耐心等待，“给它时间上钩”。

    没多久，我的线拉长了。我尽量耐心地等了一会儿，紧接着漂亮地拉线，可是当我收线时却发现，鱼吃掉了鱼饵却没有上钩——时间太短，鲈鱼还没来得及吞下整个诱饵和鱼钩。

    我朋友的诱饵也吸引来了一条鱼，他不慌不忙地将鱼钓了上来。我大约在一个小时后，才钓上来第一条鱼。

    很多人在商场上不也是如此吗？他们急于求成，急着赚钱。刚开始进行推销时，我们会因为没有立刻得到订单而心灰意冷。可是要知道，销售、经商其实和钓鱼一样，需要多付出些时间，耐心地等待鱼儿上钩。也许我们会因为没能迅速晋升而灰心丧气，丧失了热情或不再周全考虑所做出的决定，结果到最后时，我们也没弄明白为何没有快速成功。
